A very lightweight treatment of the LCAC
I wish I could have "Seen Inside" this very slim, lightweight volume on the Landing Craft Air Cushion vehicle, before I bought it. My intent was to acquire lots of detailed information as an aid to building a scale model kit of the LCAC. Instead, this turned out to be essentially a children's picture book, with large type, very simple, minimal text, too few photographs, and too many very simplified, computer-created illustrations. I paid full retail for a new copy, at a price that typically gets me an 80-plus-page technical volume filled with dozens of detailed photographs and scale drawings. I found better, more useful information and images of the LCAC for free on the internet. I would not recommend this book for anyone other than children. ... Read more

Everything I needed
I wanted to find out how to design and build my own model hovercraft and this book had everything I needed. There are details about the design of the body of the craft, motors to use and even how to connect up the radio control. The most difficult bit of the design of hovercrafts is the bag skirt and this book has details on how thats done that I couldn't find anywhere else. Highly recommend this book.

Overpriced and not enought practical information
This book has a lot of interesting and usefuly theory on hovercrafts. Often, practical details are completely missing. The price is not appropriate to the content. I've had to go back to searching the web for the real nuts and bolts details on how to build model hovercraft. Very dissapointed.

Don't Waste your Money on This Pamplet
Don't waste your money on this pamplet, which I basically flipped through in less then 30 seconds after receiving and read the whole thing. What a waste. Even if you are seriously into hovercrafts or just interested in starting out into the hobby of R/C, I have NO doubts that you could find better books/material that would help you more then this would. Read the other reviews and Take heed. I didn't want to give it any stars, but had to rate it 1 for review to go through. I am saying nothing else.

I have to admit that I didn't know what a hovercraft was when a friend gave this book/toy as a gift to my daughter. She loves it! She's an aspiring pilot and plowed through the book part in no time flat--especially the little action-adventure stories involving different kinds of hovercraft missions. The toy works great, no real problems.It really does glide over the ground "on a cushion of air," as long as the floor is very flat. ... Read more

Very basic descriptions,not much science
I was looking for basic design fundamentals, They are not here. Mostly general information that can be found on the internet. A big price for a very small book.

This books gave me everything I needed to write my Hovercraft study project. It contains history, operating information and a great experiment to try. It made my project so easy. A one stop resource! Highly recommended.

This was informative but limited. More information on how a hovercreft actually operates could have been included. However, this is a "break the ice" article which would inform the reader the very basics of hovercraft operation.
