The original owners are back at Pegasus! Inventory nearly doubled since their return Chris and Carla Heitman are once again the sole owners of Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies. The Heitmans started Pegasus in 1980 and sold the business 14 years later in order to pursue other interests. During those first 14 years, the company grew rapidly and lived up to their motto which was: IN-STOCK In those earlier years, Pegasus kept a huge inventory to help insure that orders would be shipped complete. Backorders were rare except for custom-made items and special orders. Unfortunately, due to a slowing economy and the resulting financial difficulties, Pegasus was not able to maintain the same level of customer service during the last several years. Backorders became too common as the inventory declined. In order to prevent further damage to the hard-earned reputation as a reliable supplier, the Heitmans recently bought the company back and immediately began rebuilding the inventory. Since regaining ownership, the amount of inventory in our warehouse has nearly doubled. The vast majority of orders are once again being shipped complete with no backorders. There are still a few items that are out of stock due to slow deliveries from suppliers, but our ability to fill customer orders has improved greatly.
