The very best of this, is the sprawling expanse of hills, valleys and broad ridges of the Bogong High Plains. A number of mountains rise out of this plain and the area is dotted with historical cattle men's huts. This area is easily accessible from Falls Creek. Falls Creek resort itself has the unique Nordic Bowl. This is a sheltered area of flat and gentle slopes ideal for cross country ski learning and tuition and cross country race training. It is also a rallying point for ski tourers heading out into the national park. From Windy Corner, it is an easy ski of less than one kilometer to the Nordic Bowl.
