Email from Dennis McFerran dated Sat, 11 Sep 1999 01:43:23 EDT Wow....I just looked over the Descendants of Robert Thompson that you sent me and we have very different families for Robert Thompson (#3)..... I am showing his second wife as Catherhina Corragon and children Mary, Robert, Bartlett, Rhoda, Benjamin, Anna, Katherine, JEANY, MITCHELL (m Mary Griffin 13 Oct 1784), Margaret, John, NELSON, Isiah, DAVID, and Patience. You show the wife as Catherine Hammock and children as JENNY, MITCHELL (m Nancy McGraw 30 Aug 1766), Archibald, Margaret, DAVID, Jonathan, and NELSON. I got my information from a lady named Irene Van Sandt, who has since passed away. She researched these lines for about 50 years she told me. She said that she got the information from Amerst Co, VA Wills, War Records: US Archives, and Marriage records of Amherst Co, VA. Appreciate comments.

Every time a girl reads a womanless history she learns she is worth less.
Myra and David Sadker Berenice Abbott (1898-1991) - She went to Paris to study sculpture in the 1920s but ended up as an assistant to the surrealist photographer Man Ray, in large part because he wanted an aide completely ignorant of photography. It was in Paris that her sense of artistic aesthetics were cemented. Though Man Ray left an indelible impression, she was also deeply influenced by Eugene Atget, who documented a changing Paris before his death in 1927. She took up the same theme when she returned to New York in 1929. She may be best known for her "Changing New York," a project funded by the Works Progress Administration, which recorded both the city's soaring skyline and chaotic streets. She wanted to take on a project to photograph an endangered part of America's past "before
bulldozers and derricks moved in" and chose Route 1 as the backdrop before Interstate 95, the nation's primary north-south roadway, was built. On her trip from New York to Key West and then on to Maine, she shot

The Rewriting of Sexual History
A chapter on the battle to control the sexual portrayal of men and women in history. It gives an account of the feminist portrayal of a patriarchal conspiracy to boost the image of men and deny women their rightful place in the record. The analysis reveals that in our feminist society the truth is quite the opposite. The chapter finishes with a brief study on male and female roles in the creation of history. I am currently making an effort to bring this chapter into print as part of a book on sexual politics. If you have any comments on purpose, logic, accuracy or style they would be highly appreciated. I always welcome feedback whether it is negative or positive. Contact Sarcasmo@bigpond.com
