Introduction Anyone these days can set up a webpage and claim some supernatural power, some even are sitting there with merchant accounts that prove to you their strange powers by filling your monthly credit card statements with figures and amounts. These people are sick, they are feeding off hysteria and ignorance. Most of these Internet crackpots really do believe in their own mind that they are the greatest thing since wonder bread. That is why they fill endless webpages hosted on multi-accounts to build networks of blithering babble so as to confuse the reader into thinking they are something really special. Many folks are wise enough to see these fakes right off the bat and they simply ignore these raving lunatics. So as a result of not being taken seriously, to be validated in their own mind these crackpots build more and more webpages "spamming" the search engines with biblical terms meant to funnel traffic into their web of insanity.

4. And now I perceived innovations were already begun, and that there were a great many very much elevated in hopes of a revolt from the Romans. I therefore endeavored to put a stop to these tumultuous persons, and persuaded them to change their minds; and laid before their eyes against whom it was that they were going to fight, and told them that they were inferior to the Romans not only in martial skill, but also in good fortune; and desired them not rashly, and after the most foolish manner, to bring on the dangers of the most terrible mischiefs upon their country, upon their families, and upon themselves. And this I said with vehement exhortation, because I foresaw that the end of such a war would be most unfortunate to us. But I could not persuade them; for the madness of desperate men was quite too hard for me. 7. So when Gessius had been beaten, as we have said already, the principal men of Jerusalem, seeing that the robbers and innovators had arms in great plenty, and fearing lest they, while they were unprovided of arms, should be in subjection to their enemies, which also came to be the case afterward; and, being informed that all Galilee had not yet revolted from the Romans, but that some part of it was still quiet; they sent me and two others of the priests, who were men of excellent characters, Joazar and Judas, in order to persuade the ill men there to lay down their arms, and to teach them this lesson, - That it were better to have those arms reserved for the most courageous men that the nation had [than to be kept there]; for that it had been resolved, That those our best men should always have their arms ready against futurity; but still so, that they should wait to see what the Romans would do.

Egoist, self-interested, time-server and flatterer of his Roman patrons, he may be justly called: such defects are obvious." - Thackeray Welcome to the Josephus Desktop You have found your way to the Josephus Desktop, a web resource for information relating to the life and writings of Flavius Josephus. 60. Testimonium Flavianum
Examines the arguments for and against the authenticity of the two references to Jesus in the Antiquities of Flavius Josephus.

Testimonium Flavianum
Flavius Josephus published a history of the Jews in twenty books around 93 CE. In the 18th and 20th books, there are two little references to Jesus that have inspired a massive literature on their authenticity or spuriousness. The purpose of this paper is to survey all of the relevant arguments concerning the authorship of these passages. The following outline is provided. The Testimonium Question

The Testimonium Question
The following passage is found in the extant Greek manuscripts of Josephus (Ambrosianus in the 11th century, Vaticanus in the 14th century, and Marcianus in the 15th century). This passage is quoted by Eusebius in the fourth century: in the Evangelical Demonstration 3.5, in the Ecclesiastical History 1.11, and in the Theophany Antiquities 18.3.3. "Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ; and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him; and the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct to this day."
