Football January 23, 2002 Centerville foursome voted to all-state team

Eagle Staff Writer
Centerville defensive lineman Mark Lindsey and defensive back Wayne Scott earned second-team honors on the 42nd Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State Football Team.
Centerville Tiger center Grant Heil and running back Kenny Davis were third-team picks.
Lindsey had 111 tackles and Scott added nine interceptions and 38 tackles as Centerville allowed only 167.5 yards per game and posted six shutouts.
Davis had 1,650 yards rushing on 198 carries with 19 touchdowns. He added 142 yards in receptions with a score, and threw for a TD.
Heil paved the way for Centerville to average 285 yards rushing.
Centerville won the 21-2A championship, beating Rosebud-Lott and Mart for the title. The Tigers were 10-2, losing to Garrison, 18-14, in area playoff action. Garrison was the Division II state runner-up.

Diana Herold received her two graduate degrees from the New England Conservatory and Rice University respectively. Equally adept at performing both improvised and non-improvised music, Herold has worked with composers and musicians such as Yo Yo Ma, Lou Harrison (with the Mark Morris Dance Group), Anthony Davis and Buddy DeFranco. She has performed as a featured soloist and as a percussionist with several larger new music groups and orchestras, including the Discovery Orchestra, the BMI Orchestra, Muhal Richard Abrams, Butch Morris, and the Brooklyn Philharmonic. Her performances have taken her throughout Europe, Central America, the United States, and Canada (where she attended the Banff Centre for the Arts).

That the object for which said corporation is incorporated shall be to provide relief and to assist in the repatriation, rehabilitation, and reestablishment of suffering and dependent people of the Near East and adjacent areas; to provide for the care of orphans and widows and to promote the social, economic, and industrial welfare of those who have been rendered destitute, or dependent directly or indirectly, by the vicissitudes of war, the cruelties of men, or other causes beyond their control. SEC. 4. That the principal office of the corporation shall be located in the District of Columbia, but offices may be maintained and meetings of the corporation or of the trustees and committees may be held in other places, such as the by-laws may from time to time fix.
