Spiritwalk Library Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.net Project Gutenberg is the Internet's oldest producer of FREE electronic books (eBooks or eTexts). It intends to put as many books on-line as possible and to gather these on line works into one central location. It is a terrific service of the University of Illinois.
Project Gutenberg is the brainchild of Michael Hart, who in 1971 decided that it would be a really good idea if lots of famous and important texts were freely available to everyone in the world. Since then, he has been joined by hundreds of volunteers who share his vision. Now, more than thirty years later, Project Gutenberg has the following figures (as of November 8th 2002): 203 New eBooks released during October 2002, 1975 New eBooks produced in 2002 (they were 1240 in 2001) for a total of 6267 Total Project Gutenberg eBooks. 119 eBooks have been posted so far by Project Gutenberg of Australia

Fries Family
First Generation
Johann Christian Wilhelm Fries was born 22 Nov 1775 in Germany, and arrived in North Carolina in 1809 "in good health after a very pleasant journey by land and sea." [Records of the Moravians in NC 7:3086]. In October 1811 he married Johanna Elisabeth Nissen (1787-1864), daughter of Toego Nissen and Maria Salome Meurer. He died 26 Jan 1866 and is buried at Salem.
Second Generation
Children of Johann Christian Wilhelm Fries and Johanna Elisabeth Nissen
Francis Levin Fries (1812-1863) m. Lisette Maria Vogler
Caroline Amanda Fries (1817-1881) m. Frederick Edward Belo
Charlotte Fries (1818-1883) m. David de Schweinitz (ca. 1828-1878)
Henry William Fries (1825-1902). Caroline, Francis and Henry are named in Johann Christian's will; Charlotte is not mentioned in the abstract of the will, although she was still living at the time of his death. Was she really theirs, and were there other children? The will also names 15 negroes: Adam, Eugene, John, Philip, Louis, Alexander, George, Wesley, Washington, Fenny, Maria, Pauline, Ida, Anna, and Nancy. Henry William Fries mentions children of his brother Francis Fries and of his sister Amanda Belo, also children of Bertha Lemly deceased (but doesn't name them specifically, nor does he give a relationship for Bertha Lemly.
