    http://www.hoganstand.com/cavan/2002arts/december/123002.htm
Search Cavan: Mainpage Cavan Profile Message Board Virginia school dominate vocational schools finals The Cavan vocational schools senior final was played in Kingspan/Breffini Park, Cavan on Thursday December 12th. Virginia were on course to complete the treble of schools football for the second time in three years.
A close and exciting game was anticipated as these were only separated after a replay in last years under 16 final. It was a bitterly cold day and both teams struggled to come to terms with the slippery conditions. The final score was 2-6 to 0-6 in favour of the Virginia school side. It was ten minutes into the game before the first score was registered, a point from Damien Sharkey.
Shortly after Enda Mulvey scored for Virginia in similar fashion. Cain Mackey got the first point from play before Enda Mulvey was hauled down for a penalty. John Martin made an excellent save before John McCabe fisted the rebound over the bar. Bailieboro' were guilty of missing chances, and trailed at half time by a scoreline of - Virginia 0-3, Baileboro 0-1.
Virginia were awarded a second penalty in the early stages of the second half. John McCabe made no mistake as he sent his shot low into the right hand corner of the net. A good point followed from Cian Mackey before Anton O'Reilly scored an inspirational point on a powerful run from midfield. Baileboro stayed in touch with three pointed frees from Padraig Brennan and a point from hard working midfielder Alan Clarke.
