East College was created by the Arizona Board of Regents in February 1997 to... Offer supporting courses for all ASU East students
Each semester, East College offers select upper-division General Studies courses to ensure that students can meet the university General Studies requirements through courses taught at ASU East and that students have some interesting electives to choose from. In a typical semester, East College offers courses in the following areas: anthropology, art, communication, economics, English, history, mathematics, music, philosophy, political science, psychology, religious studies, sociology, and women's studies. All are taught in small classes rather than in large lectures. East College also offers upper-division science courses required in other ASU East majors. Coordinate the New Partnership in Baccalaureate Education with Chandler-Gilbert Community College ASU East has an innovative academic partnership with Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) that helps to reduce the cost of higher education. Students admitted to ASU East programs have the status and privileges of ASU students but will take a mix of ASU and CGCC courses at the lower division. The role of East College is to ensure the quality and availability of the lower-division courses students need, whether offered by CGCC or East College.
