A reviewer, December 12, 1998 Good book for hardball players learning softball. I think this would be a very useful book for someone who started with hardball and wanted to change over to play softball. As someone who started with softball, however, I was a little disappointed. http://www.flagstaffathleticclub.com/sports.shtml
Sports are the spice of life, and many times can be the catalyst that keeps your fitness program alive and well. Although we don't recommend any of the sports offered at FAC as a way to "get in shape", they have been shown to be an effective way to help maintain a level of fitness after it has been reached. They are also a great way to supplement your fitness program and inject it with a little fun, and relieve stress. In short, we recommend not that you "play the sport to get in shape", rather that you "get in shape to play the sport". For help with this, or how a cross-training effect can be achieved with your sport, please see one of our Fitness Professionals. SPORTS PHILOSOPHY
We concentrate our efforts on helping the beginner and intermediate player, as well as offering challenges for the experts.
SPORTS AVAILABLE AT FAC. . .
Racquetball
Played on indoor courts (5 at FAC West and 4 at FAC East). Two to four people can play; singles, cut-throat, doubles. FAC offers a FREE half-hour private racquetball lesson to new members. A game finder program is also available for members to help contact other playing partners. We also offer challenge courts at different times - a great way to meet people!
