For synthetic hair, hair conditioner can be used to de-tangle and de-mat the hair. You can also use fabric softener (since, its not really hair!) Use mild ivory liquid soap as a shampoo, or baby shampoo. For more information on the dangers and benefits of using fabric softener over soap, see the section on plastic dolls.

What's Growing In There? What You Need To Know Have you ever wondered about all of those little palettes of color, and if they are really too old to be useable any longer? I know that it hurts to throw away makeup that hasn't been used up, but for safety's sake, I think that you should give it a little thought. According to the FDA... here is the rule of thumb. "Cosmetic products are generally formulated and tested for a shelf life of 1- 3 years under normal storage conditions, depending on a product's composition, packaging, preservation, and other factors.
There are no regulations or requirements under current law that require cosmetic manufacturers to print expiration dates on the labels of cosmetic products. Consumers should be aware that expiration dates are simply "rules of thumb," and that a product's safety may expire long before the expiration date if the product has not been properly stored. Cosmetics that have been improperly stored, for example exposed to high temperatures or sunlight or opened and examined by consumers prior to final sale, may deteriorate substantially, before the expiration date. On the other hand, products stored under ideal conditions may be acceptable long after the expiration date has been reached."

Top 10 Tips for European Train Travel Guide Picks Here's what you need to know about traveling Europe on the trainfrom planning your trip to buying tickets to getting the most for your travel buck. 1) When you need information
If a station has an Information deskuse it to plan your trip. Don't expect the person at the ticket window to answer all your questions when there's a line of impatient commuters waiting. This is especially important in crowded stations like Venice. Find Departing Train information by consulting the yellow posters at the stations.
2) Buying That Ticket
Go to the ticket window (checking first whether you need national or international tickets) with the following information: Train time or train number, class (usually first or second), one-way or round trip, and the date you are traveling on. Be aware that some express trains in some countries may require a seat reservation. Fast trains usually are more expensiveyou'll be charged a supplement.

"Hounds in a Kennel" oil painting by Andre Pater.
A Matter of Light
Basking in the spotlight of critical and popular acclaim, Lexington-based artist Andre Pater breathes life into his sporting-art canvases. By Katherine Tandy Brown In the summer of 2002 sporting art collectors gathered at Sladmore Gallery in London for the chance to view and perhaps, if they were lucky, to purchase one of 31 works by an artist considered by many to be the greatest in that field since Sir Alfred Munnings. Propped by a door, another painting draws the eye. Across a snowy field bright with sunrise, six foxhounds bound on scent, eager in the chase, each knowing its place in the pack, faces shining with obvious joy at doing what they love. Their movements are so precise, muscle action so real, you can almost feel them running, hear excited panting, smell damp fur. Andre Pater Working from both life and photos, Pater paints in pastels and oils. Remarkably, he can infuse that trademark brilliant light in either medium.

The British Thriller: An Introduction to the British Novel
by
Phyllis Taylor
Contents of Curriculum Unit 81.02.09:
To Guide Entry
What influences have shaped modern British fiction? The British colonized America, yet Englishmen fought for freedom from British rule. What bonds and differences exist between the cultures today and how are these influences reflected in British literature? These are some of the questions “The British Thriller” will address. Literature courses in our high schools today focus principally upon American literature. Often the only foreign readings studied are the Greek and Roman myths and the plays of Shakespeare. When questioned, many of my students viewed American literature as the only literature of any importance. I was surprised to discover that most students in a recent course thought Agatha Cristie was American because they “liked” her stories. Literature from other lands is viewed then as something not enjoyable or perhaps nonexistent. I believe that familiarity with the literature of other countries enables the individual to put one’s own thinking in perspective. It helps one view the world more realistically and leads to greater understanding of other points of view. Additionally students may discover great literatures and find the reading satisfying. This course is designed as an eight week IA block class in British literature with the following objectives:
