New Jersey Libraries Continue to Choose TLC for Automation
INWOOD, WV, April 10, 2002 - The Library Corporation's (TLC's) integrated library system Library .Solution has become an increasingly popular choice for libraries in New Jersey. One New Jersey library that recently chose TLC is Clarence Dillon Public Library in Bedminster. Clarence Dillon has 75,000 volumes and serves the communities of Bedminster and Far Hills. Director Patty Anderson said that the library wanted to replace its Gaylord Galaxy "a thirteen year old system that was not graphical or Web-based" - when it was time to upgrade the library's automation system. Clarence Dillon needed a system that would permit patrons to "move seamlessly from reserving a book, to checking the status of their account, to the Internet for Web-based content," Ms. Anderson said. "Many factors put Library.Solution ahead of the competition….For us, it was the simplicity of administration, its totally customizable patron interface, a superior level of customer support, and an add-on feature for young children, Kid's Catalog Web, which includes 11,000 links to individual Web sites," she explained. Clarence Dillon also chose Library.Solution because of the included Oracle context searching, Ms. Anderson said: "Our patrons will love the flexibility of searching via Oracle context, because it will return successful search results more often than a non-Oracle-based system," she noted.
