Tip:
Getting Your Will and Affairs in Order Captain David Cluxton of the Army's command judge advocate's office says if you are ambivalent about having your affairs in order, imagine you are dead and what the people you have left behind are going through. Stars and Stripes reports that you should first and foremost get a will and let people named in the will know where it is. Make the will accessible. Do not place the will in a safety deposit box to which you only have access because it will take a court order to open the box after your death. Only the original will is valid, and courts will not accept copies. "If your executor only has a copy, it's the same as if you died without a will," says Cluxton. Make certain someone knows how to find all of your important documents. Also, be aware that retirement pay stops when you die unless you have a Survivor's Benefit Plan, a government-sponsored, self-funded annuity.

Welcome
We believe in the power of relationships. Relationships with parents, children, spouses, peers, the Divine, and even ourselves have an immense impact on an individual's holistic health. Our practice builds upon this philosophical base. We work with adults, couples, families and children in improving relationships and building on existing strengths. Special Services for Adoptees We understand the unique needs of adopted individuals, both children and adults. Many adopted adults contact us to discuss complex issues that permeate their lives and affect their relationships. We understand these issues. With children, our Family Attachment Narrative Therapy Methodology has worked wonders in the lives of families with children adopted internationally and domestically. If an issue involves relationships, the therapists at the Family Attachment Center can help. Coming Soon: Connecting with Kids through Stories Connecting with Kids through Stories is a new book designed for parents and professionals working with adopted children whose development has been altered by early life abuse and neglect.
