"At last! The truth about the King James Bible Revealed!" FINALLY! A HOME BIBLE STUDY that gives you truth - truth that has been withheld from the general public. This Home Study teaches you... But I am getting ahead of myself. Please read on to discover what you should have already been taught. - But weren't. Dear Friend, Have you ever played "telephone"? You know, where you get five or more people in a circle and the first person whispers a story to the next person, and that person repeats what he heard to the next person, and so on until the last person has been whispered to. Then the last person repeats the story out loud to the whole group. The final version is nowhere like the first original whispered story from the first person. Every one has a good laugh and the game goes on.
The Story of our Creation is like that. It has been whispered and repeated so many times since the original version was first recorded that when we go back to the original lanuage and get the TRUE meaning of what was said our conception of TRUTH changes.
Some people cannot accept that what they have been taught all their lives has not been true.

Welcome to The Jewish Palestinian Encounter's archives. Please make you sure you have read our credo Fri May 4th 10:37:46 2001
Efraim, You wrote, " What is supposed to be the point of our on-going discussion on this forum? As I see it we are supposed to be examining the various aspects of the Jewish-Palestinian conflict... " Although that is what we seem to be doing, I think the original idea for this forum was that it would serve a much broader purpose than just to discuss the conflict. I think it was hoped that Arabs and Jews would use this place to get together to discuss all sorts of things, perhaps more the things that unite them than the conflict that divides them. From time to time we have kidded around with one another, or talked about food, language and other topics, but our obsession with the conflict seems to eventually bring us back to that topic. Ira, reviewing the fact that the conflict is over a century old, though true, doesn't really tell us anything about what to do today. I posted an idea of what I imagined Israel might do today to further its own need for a cessation of violence. I wrote that unilaterally implementing the Barak Taba proposal might be a good idea. It was just an idea, not a proposal. I don't live in Israel or Palestine so I don't make proposals for either Israelis or Palestinians.

1. Introduction
"Bridging the Digital Divide" has become a major effort of numerous non-profit organizations and development programs around the world. Without discussing here in detail what the best approach might be, we realize, that these efforts can substantially benefit from offering localized software and text interfaces to the new information technology (IT) users. We need to remind ourselves, that for many citizens of developing countries, a good school education is still an exception. Teaching computer basics can be a very difficult task, specifically if computers are not part of the students everyday life. This process is further complicated by language-based misunderstandings and might even lead to a widening of the digital divide. Students can be much better motivated if they fully understand what is being taught, or what is written on a computer screen for example in form of menu labels or error messages. The technologies discussed here are also prerequisite for creating local content. The need for local content was identified by many organizations that are working to bridge the digital divide. We specifically want to point here to

INTRODUCTION AND PROBLEMS OF THE TEXT
The Life of Adam and Eve is an apocryphal story about the experience of the first human couple after their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. Of the numerous apocryphal works that were written regarding Adam and Eve in the ancient world, this text certainly has pride of place. Not only was its influence in antiquity quite evident and widespread but the tale also enjoyed enormous popularity in the medieval world as well.
      Date
The text has proven very difficult to date and one can be no more accurate than to say it must have been composed between the 3rd and 7th centuries. It is quite possible of course that certain literary units of the work are considerably older than this as there can be no question that the present form of the work is the result of a complex redactional process that wove together different source materials into a single story.
      Provenance
Equally problematic is the question of the work's provenance. Most scholars have assumed a Jewish origin for the work, on the grounds that evidence of explicit Christian features are so minimal in the tale and seem to be of a late redactional level rather than integral to the story itself. Yet recent scholarship on the creation and transmission of such apocryphal tales from antiquity suggests that the possibility of Christian origins be given due consideration. In any event the fact that the tale was copied, edited and expanded by Christian scribes and enjoyed immense popularity in Christian circles needs to be taken seriously. There is evidence of Jewish familiarity with parts of the work but no evidence of any role in the transmission of the text as it now presently stands.

    1. Introduction
The World Wide Web is becoming more "world wide" every day. Hardware and software is developed for the global market. It has been to create and process information for people worldwide: to publish material and exchange data in different kinds of languages, for example Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, or Thai, and not only english. With the international Internet follows an absolute requirement to interchange data in a multiplicity of languages, which in turn utilize a bewildering number of characters. But there are many hindrances with Languages, writing systems, character codes, and other local conventions. The real solution to the problem is obviously to move the development of the Web to the point where resources can contain information in multiple character sets and languages. However this is no simple matter; there is already a lot of software deployed that uses the existing standards. Internationalization of the Web must ensure that this existing base of tools can still make use of the information available; in other words it should provide for backwards compatibility where possible.

Many have not been translated at all but are merely transliterated. Indeed many things cannot be translated from one language to another. Thus it is up to the all knowing clergy, of the church of your choice, to tell you what they "really" mean. quote: and if the bible is the word of God and all translators are
touched by him to reveal the true word of God, how can it even
    happen?
There are a few places in the Bible where a prophet will say, "The word of the Lord came to me, and he said ..." But there is no place in the Bible where it says, "This Book is the Word of God." Whether one can believe that the Bible is The Word of God depends on at least two things: How you define Word and how you define God As to how there can be conflicting translations, the answer is simple. Translators which work for my church got it right. All the others are incompetent boobs!

Title: StressTyp Creator: Harry van der Hulst and Rob Goedemans Subject: stress; primary stress; secondary stress; accent; main stress; rhythm; lexical stress; syllable weight; stress domain; metrical rules; stress parameters; foot type; foot assignment. Description: StressTyp stands for Stress Typology. StressTyp is a database containing information about word-level stress patterns of (some of) the languages of the world. Work on StressTyp began in 1992 as a pilot project of EUROTYP (1990-1994), a project on the typology of European languages, financed by the European Science Foundation (ESF). In october 1997, work on the Prosody in Indonesian Languages (PIL) project started. StressTyp was integrated in this project to ensure its continuation, and to provide an output platform for the information on the prosodies of Indonesian languages that will be gathered by the project's researchers. The first goal of StressTyp was to offer a quick entry to the primary and secondary literature on stress systems of the languages of the world. All stress properties of languages were encoded to facilitate searches for grammars of languages with certain stress properties. This coding system has started to lead a life of its own and has made it possible to search through the database for the occurrence of (combinations of) quite specific stress parameters. Through the search facilities that come with any database, StressTyp can now be instrumental in testing and developing typological hypotheses on stress, which has become its primary function. It has been expanded with geographical information to allow searches for areal patterning.
