Our mission is to provide engineers, scientists, and science and engineering students with resources for understanding and addressing ethically significant problems that arise in their work, and to serve those who are promoting learning and advancing the understanding of responsible research and practice in science and engineering. We occasionally sponsor conferences located in physical space, such as the International Conference on Ethics in Engineering and Computer Science in 1999. In other respects, the Online Ethics Center exists only in "cyberspace" and provides materials exclusively by posting them on these pages. Upcoming Conferences

Distributed Systems Laboratory
Argonne National Laboratory
University of Chicago The Distributed Systems Laboratory (DSL) is a research and software development group within the Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) Division at Argonne National Laboratory and the Department of Computer Science at The University of Chicago A Grid is a persistent infrastructure that supports computation-intensive and data-intensive collaborative activities, especially when these activities span organizations. Grid computing facilitates the formation of "Virtual Organizations" for shared use of distributed computational resources. Under the leadership of Dr. Ian Foster , the DSL hosts research and development activities designed to realize the potential of "Grids" for computational science and engineering. Together with Carl Kesselman's Center for Grid Technologies at the University of Southern California Information Sciences Institute , we are co-founders of the Globus Project TM , a highly-collaborative international and multidisciplinary effort to make Grid computing a reality.

Mathematics and computer science Division 714 992 - 7196. Studentscan obtain an Associate of science Degree in computer science.
    http://compsci.fullcoll.edu/
Mathematics and Computer Science Division: The Computer Science Department at Fullerton College offers transfer-level courses taught by qualified, experienced faculty. Articulation agreements with four year institutions allow students to complete most, if not all, of their first two years of study at community college costs. Industry standards regarding design and programming style are followed rigorously, allowing for successful job training and reentry into the current job market. New languages and technologies are introduced into the curriculum in a timely manner to keep pace with this fast changing industry's requirements. The Computer Science laboratory, located in the 600 building, is reserved for use only by Computer Science students and qualified Mathematics students. The lab currently has twenty PC's running Windows 2000. Lab aides and instructors are available during scheduled hours to help students succeed. Saturday classes are offered. Students can obtain an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Science Computer Science Counseling is available for new and continuing students by contacting one of the following counselors: Bernadette Archer: or email at: barcher@fullcoll.edu
