Sacred Heart Church The person with the longest record of service to Sacred Heart and the Jesuits of Tampa is Ethel Wilson. For sixty years Ethel has been part of the Jesuit's ministry at both Jesuit High School and Sacred Heart. Originally from Long Island, New York, Ethel has held such positions as parish secretary, pastor's secretary and is now church archivist and bulletin editor. At one time, Ethel lived in pre-Castro Cuba with her late husband. Perhaps that's why she is a student of various cultures in her free time. She also enjoys reading and helping out whenever called upon. Keeping the church records is a demanding job since it not only requires recording of Sacraments done at Sacred Heart but also demands mailing records and certificates to individuals and other churches who request them, as well as doing some research in our archives for those wanting to know when grandma was married here. Ethel performs these tasks with great joy. We are blessed (and have been for the past 60 years) by Ethel's devoted and loving service.
