(This idea was contributed by Chandra Anil) This game helps to teach children the different planets of the solar system in a fun way. It is a variation of the four corners game we played when we were kids. Make the children form 3 groups of 9 each. Label each child as "Mercury", "Venus" etc and ask them to remember which planet they represent. In three corners of the room, draw a Sun in the centre and circles for each planet. Make each child stand in his/her circle according to his planetary position. One child (planet X - You can give him/her any name you choose) is made to stand away from these groups. The children (planets) move around their sun as they chant the names of the planets in order. Once they have finished one round, the teacher calls out the name of any one planet. If "Saturn" was called, the 3 Saturns must exchange places with each other. Planet X meanwhile tries to make a dash to one of the Saturns' circles. If he/she reaches there before the other Saturn, Planet X now becomes Saturn and the homeless Saturn turns into Planet X. The game can be made more lively by playing some music while the planets revolve around the Sun and stopping it to call out a planet's name.

N. Chandra and Anil Kapoor, the combination that gave the super-successful TEZAAB, will work together again. Chandra has been signed to direct Boney Kapoor's new film, which will feature Anil in the lead. “Boney's company is like my own,” Chandra states, “The film will star Anil. However, we've not finalised the script yet. Once it's finalised, I'll be able to speak at length about the project.”
2003 seems like a crucial year for Chandra. Besides Nitin Keni's film and now Boney's project, Chandra is all set to start his home-production as well, titled DIL BOL RELA HAI.

Anil Chandra, center, confers with Staff Affirmative Action and Diversity Advisory Committee colleagues Irene Horgan-Thompson, left, and Andrea Romero, right
Debbie Aldridge/Mediaworks By Ellen Chrismer "You name it," he said. "I’ve worked in all the places except benefits." For the past seven years, Chandra has been employed in the affirmative action/equal employment opportunity and diversity office. He has stayed put in one office for a while now, but his analyst-and-consultant post has provided him with plenty of variety, he says. In the beginning of his tenure in the office, Chandra said his primary responsibilities were reviewing workforce demographic data, dealing with minor informal complaints and offering basic education about affirmative action across campus. In recent years, however, his duties have been expanded to include resolving campus complaints of discrimination, dealing with settlements, and offering discrimination and mediation education. Chandra now also makes sure the university is in full federal compliance for the equitable treatment of job applicants and staff. Promoting diversity on campus is now a much bigger part of his responsibilities, as well, he said.

Sharon Polis, wife of boating accident victim Gary Polis, left, talks with friends at the memorial ceremony
Debbie Aldridge/Mediaworks By Ellen Chrismer In a moving ceremony last week, UC Davis dedicated permanent and living memorials to five scientists who died on a university research trip to the Sea of Cortez last year.
Family, colleagues and friends of UC Davis ecology professor Gary Polis and postgraduate researcher Michael Rose gathered at the event outside Putah Creek Lodge. There, in a landscaped row, a limestone memorial has been placed and five trees have been planted honoring the lives of Polis, Rose and the three Kyoto University researchers who also perished in the March 2000 boating accident off Baja California: Takuya Abe, Masahiko Higashi and Shigeru Nakano.
The trees chosen are symbolic, speakers told the crowd. For the UC Davis researchers, two flowering chitalpa trees, native to Baja California, were planted. In remembrance of the Kyoto University scientists, the university chose Japanese magnolias.
"They taught us that there are true risks inherent in research," Hinshaw said. "We thank them for their courage in pursuing new knowledge."

Anil Kapoor and N.Chandra "TEAM" up.

By: Planet Bollywood Special Correspondant There has been news floating around for the last couple of weeks about a possible Boney Kapoor project that will bring together Anil Kapoor and N. Chandra. Since this news had come out, there has been a lot of anticipation about the details of the movie as this brings back the super successful pair of "Tezaab". The movie titled "TEAM" is about campus life where Anil Kapoor plays a college principal for the first time in his career. The movie is supposed to be a hard hitting flick along the lines of N. Chandra´s own critically acclaimed Sujata Mehta-Nana Patekar starrer "Pratighaat", where Anil Kapoor as a principal takes on the negative elements of the society with the help of his students. The movie will be produced by Boney Kapoor and will go on the floors soon. With projects like Sudhir Mishra´s thriller "Waapsi", Anurag Kashyap´s futuristic tale "All Win Kalicharan" and now "TEAM", Anil Kapoor surely seems to be in a very experimental and ambitious mode. If it can be recalled, N Chandra is also directing the ambitious project "Indira Gandhi - A Tryst With Destiny". Produced by Nittin Keni of "Gadar" fame, the movie is based on the life of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and has Manisha Koirala in the title role.

The story of the movie was simple. It revolved around Munna aka Mahesh ( Anil Kapoor )-a one time patriot, who due to circumstances of society becomes a low life " mawali ". Munna falls in love with Mohini ( Madhuri Dixit )-a dancer who dances so her father ( Anupam Kher ) can fulfill his gambling and alcohol addictions. How Munna frees Mohini from the clutches of her father and comes back on the right side of the law forms the crux of the movie. What sounds like a ordinary and everyday storyline is enhanced by some breakneck story telling and fantastic performances!! Chandra´s story at that time was considered controversial and the film moved on one track keeping the audiences glued. As a director Chandra left no stone unturned! They give a glimpse of the remarkable events and civilizations which existed in this land in a span of three thousand years, from 2000 BC - 1200 A.D. "From the primitive village cultures to the wonderful cities built in the Indus basin by the Harappan people; from the coming of the Aryans to the great works of Vedic scholars; from the intellectual and spiritual ferment of the age of Buddha to the times of the Gupta Empire when India was perhaps the happiest and most civilized region of the world as the decadent Roman Empire was nearing it’s end, and China was passing through a turbulent period; from this era till the later incursions of the Muslims—the entire sweep of India’s rich history unfolds before the reader in this kaleidoscopic survey. It offers an all-round view of Indian culture, it’s political life, its literature, it’s cults, doctrines and religions, it’s society and it’s people.

A young man met a ravishingly beautiful woman at midnight near the imperial fort, ‘Lal Kila’, at Delhi. This was when a violent war of succession was raging between Dara Shukoh and Aurangzeb, the two potential successors of emperor Shahjehan. The meeting led to a startling chain of events.
