Book Description
For years people have been looking for news of an effective treatment for M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. At last, here is the book they have been waiting for.Reverse Therapy is the radical new Bodymind healing process that has taken the UK by storm, bringing relief to hundreds of sufferers from these conditions since it was first offered to the General Public in 2003.Dr. John Eaton has now written this short book in order to explain Reverse Therapy in simple terms, accessible to the general reader. He describes how he evolved the ideas for Reverse Therapy and the underlying treatment process.Other chapters explain the nature of these illnesses and what exactly causes the symptoms. Then John goes on to describe how Reverse Therapy works and what sufferers can do to get well again. This may well be the first and last book anyone will need to buy in order to understand M.E./CFS and Fibromyalgia, and find the way to their cure. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Introduces a new way of thinking and living
I read (and reread) this book after beginning reverse therapy. While I am finding the therapy very important, reading the book has given me a great foundation for understanding the process, and provides reminders and support between sessions. Applying the principles described in the book is life-changing, and not just for people who have CFS. Anyone wanting a healthier and happier life can benefit from the mindset and strategies described here.

4-0 out of 5 stars Helpful, but not magic
I read the book a year ago, and I've been going to Reverse Therapy sessions for about 6 months.I'm about 10 percent better, and I will persevere as that's more benefit than I've gotten from anything else.I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about trying Reverse Therapy, and I would recommend it to anyone with CFS to have as a tool.Reading it in conjunction with John Sarno and Freedom From Fibromyalgia (Selfridge and Peterson) will help.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well worth the read
Whether you go ahead and work with a therapist using this approach or not, just the reading alone can be enormously helpful. It was for me.I think with this view I am finally getting to the root of why the CFS took hold and what causes the various symptoms, and this education/perspective is helping me get going so the symptoms can loosen their grip, not only for CFS but for other sub-optimal reactions my body has developed over the years that lessen a full experience of life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Life-Changing
In a word, this book was life-changing.I thought I was recovered from CFS, but I have made great strides since reading, and internalizing, the smart tenets of this book. It's a quick read, and Dr. John Eaton makes all the concepts simple and easy to understand. A must-read.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book ever written on CFS/M.E.
I suffered from CFS for 13 years, but now I am recovered. Reading Dr. Eaton`s book gave me very valuable and vital clues about the process of recovery. The book is almost sufficient to treat the condition by yourself and I would recommend it to anyone suffering with CFS/M.E. or fibromyalgia. It gives a detailed overview of Reverse Therapy and how it developed from earlier theories of eminent psychologists and therapists. In addition to giving a good theoretical basis for understanding RT, this book gives a lot of practical information as well. The book gives you a good understanding of Reverse Therapy, but is a bit lacking in instructions on how to treat the condition by yourself. But I assure you: you can get well with the help of this book. I used some additional sources to learn about the process, but I would say that if you read this book, you only need a bit of outside support to get well. Which is not to say that the therapy is useless, ofcourse. If you have a chance, attend the sessions, but by all means, read the book first!
This book is THE BEST book ever written on CFS! Dr. Eaton has done a wonderful job. Thank you for your invaluable work!

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK.
I have studied TITANIC most of life and before the movie, TITANIC, It was hard to find TITANIC books. This one and Don Lynch's TITANIC AN ILLUSTRATED history were thebest out. This is like a dictonary. It has the mostinformaition of all TITANIC books. I would recomend this book to anyone. Itis a great book for the begginer for its info and great price. BUY THISBOOK!

5-0 out of 5 stars amazing and detailed.10/10 for the breath taking pictures
before james camereon released his 'titanic'I was unaware of any facts about the great ship ,except for the fact that she hit an iceberg and sank with the loss of 1500 lives.now however after reading countless booksand articles i have compiled a detailed knowledge of her .this book ,althogh not 100% acurate is very good and deserves to be up there withbooks such as walter lords 'a night to remember'if you are not atitanic fan, you will be after reading this book.the pictures to are breathtaking

A MUST FOR ANY TITANIC BUFF

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good
This is the 4th book that I bought about the Titanic.I thought it had alot of wonderful information about the sinking and the aftermath of this tragedy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really Good!
This book is the second book that I bought about Tianic. It is not the best Titanic book that I have read, but it's excellent facts have helped me a lot in my Titanic project that we're doing in English at school. It's really well written and the accounts of some of the survivers are really interesting. I'd reccomend this book to all Titanic fans - Lauren, 13

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fact Book
This is one of my my personal favorite Titanic books. I am a Titanic buff and am hungry for facts, and, to say the least, am now full. This book has from the Titanic gross tonnage to how much money Col. John Jacob Astor had in his pocket when his body was found.

This is a must for any Titanic Library, and is a great companion to Titanic: Triumph and Tragedy. It has a timeline of the ship, the dimension, the WHOLE story (it was reprinted in 1998), and CRAMMED cover to cover with facts.
I was disappointed to see, however, that it did not include the complete names of many people. Anyway, the good eradicates the bad, so I think any one who is even mildly interested in the Titanic should waste no time and get this book. Now. ... Read more

Book Description
The Wheel of Life is the spiritual autobiography of John Blofeld (1913-1987), a world-renowned British scholar and writer who devoted his life to the study of Eastern traditions, especially Buddhism and Taoism. With wit, honesty, and humility, Blofeld portrays his search for wisdom and his discovery of a genuine spiritual path. He describes in vivid detail his life in Peking and his travels in Tibet, Mongolia, China, India, and Burma: the worlds of remote mountain monasteries, the sacred inner chambers of sages and yogis, and the inspired lives of simple, ordinary people. The book is particularly valuable for its sensitive picture of a world that no longer exists. As Huston Smith remarks in his Foreword, "Blofeld encountered Chinese Buddhism and Taosim at a very special moment in history, the final moment before they came under Communist onslaught. To have his intimate glimpses into what they were like as still-living traditions is historically important." Among John Blofeld's notable books are The Tantric Mysticism of Tibet and Bodhisattva of Compassion, both in Shambhala Dragon Editions, and The Book of Changes, a translation of the I Ching. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The diary of a Buddhist pilgrim
John Blofeld's autobiography, giving account of his long travels in Buddhist Asia (chiefly China), is an inspiring and honest one. It is probably more inspiring, because of his reticence. Few Western Buddhists - writing books of this type, have detailed the deeper aspects of the Buddhist life. Despite evident inspiration, Lama Anagarika Govinda, Madame Alexandra David-Neel et al, actually said relatively little about peak experiences. In fact, few Asian Buddhists have left biographies, detailing their inner life. Dogen's account amounts to a few lines - where 'peak' experiences are concerned. Hakuin is an exception to this - detailing all sorts of psycho-spiritual changes. The Ming Master Han-shan gave good account of his experience of meditation. Hsu-yun (1840-1959) touched on some of his experiences, but modestly, for a man who lived to be 119 years of age, 100 of them in the Sangha.

Admittedly, there is a kind of unfulfilled yearning in J.B.'s autobiography, made that much more poignant by his expectat-ions and an impending sense of coming in sight of his goal. The first edition of WOL left it open ended. The sequel, added to later editions, did, in some ways, lend a dispiriting tone to the end of the book. Still, it is worth remembering that J.B. was in China - in the years leading up to the civil war and the eventual triumph of Chinese Communism. Such events shook up the foundations of Chinese Buddhism - and, the foundations of Buddhism in Tibet. John Blofeld re-settled - out of necessity, in Thailand, at which time, there was little room to feel optimistic about the fate of Buddhism in China and Tibet. He had been cut off from the people and places which had inspired him,in his youth. What he had to say, about his years in Buddhist China etc., therefore constitutes a precious account.

4-0 out of 5 stars More travelogue than spiritual autobiography
The subtitle of this work is "The Autobiography of a Western Buddhist". Unfortunately, that is not really an accurate description. The author, whether from humility or reticence, tells us little of his spiritual development and practice.

Still, his life has been remarkable and he describes a spiritual world in China and Tibet that is gone forever and can only be vicariously experienced through books such as this.

The author is a modest man, perhaps excessively so. I believe that he has left out much that would be of interest to his readers. The result is more a spiritual travelogue than a true spiritual autobiography. Yet, this book is so evocative that I am grateful to accept however much he is willing to share about his extraordinary experiences.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Western Dharma Pioneer
ven. Huston Smith's comments are right on.Having used and admired Blofeld's edition of the 'I Ching' for some time, I always wanted to get around to reading this book, and now am very glad I did!ven. John Blofeldgives us an honest account, free of self-conscious editing, of a Westernseeker attracted by the fragrance of Dharma while still in grade school, who then pursued it to pre-Mao China and met many great sages from amillenia-old tradition. On my sagging particle-board bookshelf, I put thisbook lovingly next to ven. From the supplier: Washington, DC's John Eaton Elementary School uses the Galaxy Institute for Education's GALAXY Classroom interactive satellite network to facilitate quality education while involving students with technology. School administrators believe that students need to prepare for a technologically advanced society. The school decided to implement a system that would motivate students to learn, show them that writing is a critical component of everyday life, and teach problem-solving skills, all while supporting the current curriculum. The GALAXY Classroom network is designed for elementary schools. It provides three interactive curricula: House fourth-grade integrated arts program, fifth-grade S.N.O.O.P. inquiry-based science curriculum and Fixer-Uppers first-grade hands-on science curriculum. GALAXY teacher professional development, impacts of the system and an example of how the program is used are discussed.

Book Description
This is the untold saga of the 130 passengers aboard the ill-fated luxury liner who were bound for Canada.Author Alan Hustak began his research ten years before the blockbuster movie came out. He conducted hundreds of interviews across the country with direct descendants and relatives of Canadians who sailed on the Titanic's maiden. In the process he unearthed historic photographs and stories which contribute another dimension to the familiar tale. Hustak's chronicles are more poignant than fiction, such as the tale of Quigg Baxter, the young Montreal hockey player who risked all to smuggle his Belgian fiance aboard, the Fortune family from Winnipeg which failed to heed a clairvoyant's warning; and Harry Markland Molson, the richest Canadian aboard who was persuaded by Toronto millionaire Arthur Peuchen to extend his stay in England and sail home with him on the Titanic. Hustak discloses the scandalous behaviour of second class passenger Joseph Fynney and tells of the young honeymooners Bert and Vera Dick of Calgary who started an enduring legend about the disaster. Some books insist the Titanic's last victim, found in a lifeboat a month after the disaster, was from New Jersey; others say he was from Chicago. In fact he was Thomson Beattie of Winnipeg.

These stories and others have been overlooked or ignored by American and British historians and enthusiasts who have written about the Titanic. Titanic: The Canadian Story begins where other Titanic accounts end. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Most Excellent Book
I loved this book from start to finish. Alan Hustak did a superb job of telling the stories of the Canadians who were on board the doomed ship in April 1912. The Baxter Family touched me the most when the son "Quigg" carried his mother to the lifeboat and gave her his silver flask of brandy and told everyone to keep their spirits up. His sister Zette and his lady friend also survived. If you like Titanic history then you must read this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Canadians who went down with Titanic
Amid the craze about the Titanic that the James Cameron film created, many Titanic books were published. This is a rare account, more a list of biographies, of some of the more interesting Canadians who boarded the great ill-fated ship. Author Alan Hustak did a good job of salvaging these true stories of real Canadians. Many of these accounts are published here for the first time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Something Special!
It seems just about everyone is writing a book on the Titanic these days, and many of these new titles are worthy additions to the literature. But it is a rare and exciting discovery when you find a book that breakscompletely new ground uncovering a portion of the Titanic story never toldbefore.

Alan Hustak's book is one of these groundbreading works. His bookis about the 130 passengers on the Titanic that were bound for Canada. Hewrites about who these people were, why they were on the ship, as well astheir eventual fates. He tells about people from all walks of life from theproud and wealthy in first class to the immigrants in third class.

In retrospect, it is amazing that a book on this subject has not been writtensooner. Some of the most recognizable names of the drama, Arthur Peuchen, the Countess of Rothes, the Allison baby - even Eva Hart, all were boundfor Canada. Yet in most other titles their Canadian connection is barelymentioned, if not completely ignored.

The author has put an important, but neglected, aspect of the Titanic story back into the spotlight.

3-0 out of 5 stars Hmmm....
I must admit that when I bought this book I thought I was going to get some interesting glimpse of life aboard Titanic and of its sinking through Canadian passengers, but I was disappointed. This is more like a book ofthe family history of each Canadian passenger. It rarely delves intointeresting Titanic facts and instead reminds us of information that hasalready been written. I must say though, there are some little gems ofinformation present but they are too few and aren't realy delt with. A goodreads though.

5-0 out of 5 stars An incredible amount of research.
Whoever said there is nothing more to be written about the TITANIC, needs to spend time with this publication! One may have previously thought the Canadian prensence on-board the ill-fated liner would have dissipated intohistory. Hustak has re-written the definition of research with"TITANIC-The Canadian Story". A must read for the historian. Ican only wish it were in hardcover so the constant reading & referencemight be disguised. ... Read more
