Extractions: Sue Rohn Chuck "Mr. Excitement" Chitty took the lead from Allan Mac Currach on the third lap of the 30 lap late model feature to the checkered flag for his first win of the year. No one had anything for Chitty as he stayed several car lengths ahead of the field. Steve Whitener took over the second position on lap 4 to follow chitty to the stripe. David Browning claimed third at the stripe. Heats races went to Browning and Whitener. Mark Whitener was in the winner circle again to make it two in a row. Whitener took the lead from Bo Allen on lap 11 of the 20 lap grand american feature to carry the 18 car field to the checkered flag. Allen had to settle for second and Kevin Bayless finished third. Heats won by George Thrift and Whitener. Gene Lasker of Tampa led the last 16 laps of the 20-lap sprint car feature to take the checkered flag for the win. At the green, Tommy Denton took the lead for one lap when Lee Scrape edged by him for the lead. But not for long. Scrape led two laps when he went off the racetrack in turn one, putting him out of the race. Denton regained the top spot but for only one lap and lost it to Lasker. Denton finished second and Terry Schaeffer of Deltona was third. Heats went to Scott Boyles and Lasker. Brian Smith made it three in a row as he took the checkered flag of the 20 lap sportsman feature. Terry Jones was running strong in second but couldn't hold back Eddie Holton when he took over second on lap 13 to follow Smith to the stripe. Jones settled back for a third place finish. Holton took the heat.
