5-0 out of 5 stars A must for every backpack and desktop!
This is so much more than a study guide, it's a primer for preparedness in life. Teachers always tell students to be more organized or to make better use of their time, but here's a teacher who FINALLY tells a student HOW to make that happen in a down-to-earth, common-sense approach. These tips are building blocks to successful education, spiced with the author's knowing humor and 'just-between-us' experiences from the classroom. Any student, any age will find these tips useful and should come back to them again and again for inspiration or reinforcemnt.Using the mind as a camera to enhance visualiziation, focusing study periods, color coding...so many tidbits to use.Adult and student alike will learn from this--I said 'hey, I should do that' to myself about a dozen times when reading this book. This guide should be a first-day handout to every student in every classroom in America. Ms. Holdbrooks-Townsel proves there are still teachers who care and inspire far beyond textbooks or classrooms-those are the teachers we remember. This will be the best seven bucks you ever spend on your child's education.

5-0 out of 5 stars Short, Sweet & Pertinent
My son used to spend hours laboring over his textbooks, only to pull disappointing grades after all his hard work. Most kids are sent home with the admonition *to* study, but not really what that means, or taught *how* to study effectively.Every student may not use all 101 of the tips in this book, but I would be surprised if he/she didn't use MANY of them, with the end result - better grades with LESS time studying, and much less stress. It's a Win-Win-Win situation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exactly what the STUDENT needs at a GREAT PRICE!
Written for the student without boring, long, hard to understand sentences. It's to the point on how to apply the techniques to develop better learning skills. This is for ALL students regardless of grade. I have used some of the tips in my professional work as well. Very well written and most of all, useful.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have Tool for Parents, Students & Teachers
As a parent I have read many books to use as tools to help my sons master learning techniques that would enable them to have great grades. It was important in our home to have those grades in order to play sports, etc. Of the books I have read "School Skills 101" gives the best tips, tools and techniques to not only receive great grades but to absorb and learn what the student is studying.A must have book for parents, students and teachers.

5-0 out of 5 stars If this doesn't do it nothing will!
This book is the real deal.Tricks to study, to absorb, and to ace the tests. It lays it out clear and simple. These tips stick in your head and make a difference. ... Read more
