Product Description
This abridged edition continues to use the broad organization that health law teachers and students found so helpful in the last five editions. Notes material has been trimmed substantially and some cases and sections of the primary casebook have been deleted. The authors' goal was to create a book better suited for schools that have curricular space for only one course, including medical schools and schools of public health. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fav Law book!
Bought this for a class... It's easy to read/follow, great case examples to go along with the laws... felt that it is easier to read than most law books. (warning though, super sad- obviously this is a case book, so you are reading things that went wrong and thus are examples of health law... depressing!)

5-0 out of 5 stars My mistake
I ordered this book by mistake but I had no problems returning it. It was very simple and fast. ... Read more

Product Description
This second edition of Legal and Ethical Dictionary for Mental Health Professionals confronts the problems arising from a lack of clear understanding of mental health laws or terminologies. Case law continues to show that mental health professionals (MHPS) lose cases because they base their professional actions on incorrect definitions or misunderstandings of legal and ethical terms. Some have been professionally sanctioned or had their licenses revoked as a result of making professional decisions or actions based upon improper understanding of confusing language. This dictionary provides MHPS with clear and concise definitions of legal and ethical terminologies. To enhance the professional's understanding, a professional significance section has been added after the definitions to further comprehension of practical dimensions of the words and to aid in legal and ethical decision-making. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Book Order
I order my college book from this seller and was notified 21 days later that the book was sold previously and is no longer available.Do not order from this person as they are not reliable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Textbook
This book was required for the class I was taking but it was very easy to understand and informative. I love that it had definition in the margin and periodic progress checks throughout the chapter. I of course had to have this book but would recommend to anyone interested in medical law and ethics.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
Dear all,
I am currently studying Master of Laws in Medical Law in UK and found this book very useful and user-friendly to read!
I have purchased this interesting book and almost finished reading it now.
I also discovered that there are some excellent brain-storming questions after each chapter for self-assessment on knowledge of medical law and ethics which is very relevant to my studying at present.
BR,
Aaron Lee.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book - Difficult Read
I purchased this book as a required textbook for one of my classes in Medical Assisting. The pricing and availability is the best I've come across. In fact, our own school book store has not been able to get this title in stock yet.

As far as the book itself goes it is very detailed and nicely written. However, if you are not law minded or familar with judicial terms it can be a hard read. Definitions are given for most terms but putting it all together while your reading it for the first time can be a little tedious. I definitly recommend if you are getting this for a class taking the time to read over a chapter twice and doing the learning objectives to fully get a good grasp on the subject.

If you are a teacher looking at this book for an expedited course or course that meets once a week I would not recommend this book. Simply, that from a students point of view and experience, this book requires a class that can take the time to go over questions or confusions that might arise. But, if your looking simply due to material and adequate coverage of the subject I would recommend it since it does cover what needs to be learned. ... Read more
