Festival of Lights
This entertaining book is appropriately titled, for it is filled with a delightful collection of handmade chanukiot. Author Penny Harow is the creative spirit behind every original design presented in her book. The decorations she uses often double as the candleholders themselves, and range from miniature cowbells and baby bottles to birthday cake candle holders and tiny fireman helmets. Many use an assortment of holders that have been glued either in front of or actually on top of a variety of miniature objects: basketballs, skateboards, clowns, and toys, to name a few. Harow has helicopters on chanukiot as well as puppy dogs, Spiderman, lipstick and little ponies. There is even one made of bouncy balls, connected to the base by magnets so they can be rearranged each night. She shows us customized chanukiot with teeth and toothbrushes for her dentist, and sewing tools for her seamstress. Each chanukiah has an accompanying photo and a brief description. These whimsical explanations are fun to read, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. Her puppy chanukiah, for example, is illustrated with an adorable girl holding a pooch on a leash and includes the following words: "PAWS for a moment and check out this chanukiah. Dog lovers from all WALKS of life won't be able to LEASH their excitement over this menagerie of canines." This is a fun book for a mom or grandma to share with a young child.. Unless You Are Lucky Enough To Get To Live Under
a rock during the holiday season--you are probably going to have to be involved in some kind of festivities.Whether the whole family shindig or the mandatory office potluck, let's face it we all have to grow up and face the music sometime.Sometimes that music is "Jingle Bells" and we're stuck.This book of the series I really like when I am too tired during the season.It has good "mixes" that can be created, packaged and make lovely hostess or office pal presents.It has a lot of good beverage ideas in general that are easy.Sometimes if you just break down and buy that 30 cup coffee maker for $, you can be the king/queen of the holiday potlucks with the delicious Wassail and hot beverages recipes
located here.This is the kind of book even old Scrooge should have for backup during the mandatory holidays at the end of the year.

One of the best of the Gooseberry patch
I usually like to tab the pages of the recipes that I would like to try, but I would have to tab this entire book! I recently made the apple cinnamon bars for my daughters 5 k class and they were such a hit! ( They were for Johnny Appleseed Day 9-26)

Christmas With Victoria 1998
This is the least favorite of all my Christmas With Victoria books.That's probably just due to my taste (entirely personal).

Holiday magic
I loved this book. The recipes are terrific, the ideas are helpful, and the photos are so pretty the season's special moodcomes alive. Even in August it made me feel the spirit of Christmas, and on a sunny summer day, that's saying something!

Long on looks, short on information

Very Disappointed
I don't know what people consider small space but this book doesnt't cover it.My rooms are 11x13 with no flat walls.The illustrations aren't expanded enough to get a real sense of the rooms and what I saw didn't excite me.And, the ideas are really old, if you have access to HGTV watch it for better ideas.Not worth my money and sorry I brought it.

I agree with previous posters.For the money and the small size of this book, it's a great value.The same few pieces are used over and over again, but that proves how well they work.This one is a keeper.

Small Spaces
I got several good ideas from the book that will work well in my "small spaces".The book has really nice, high quality pictures.I would recommend the book to anyone trying to get a better fit in a small space.

Small book, but chock full of great ideas.
This book has many great ideas for each room of the home and includes large, clear, color photos showing those ideas at work. Rooms that are often overlooked in organizing books, such as craft rooms, nursery, and even the garage, are given attention here.

Some of the items for small spaces that the authors recommend are easily purchased, such as the multi-purpose storage cubes that are shown in different configurations for widely-varying uses in several different rooms.The book's resources section tells you exactly where to purchase these items.Some items, such as the futon that doubles as a guest bed for a dorm room, come with instructions for making it yourself (not as difficult as you'd think...even a beginner could do it).

This book looks at using oft-missed nooks and crannies in small apartments and houses, but also looks at how to make the most of multi-purpose rooms and single-room living, such as dorm rooms and studio apartments.

While this book is only 96 pages, it comtains more USABLE information than most books on this subject.The ideas are down-to-earth, practical, and affordable.The rooms these ideas are shown working in--although absolutely beautiful--look like places people actually live in with all of their "stuff" rather than fancy show rooms that contain nothing but furniture and decorative items. ...
